I got out to the woods again yesterday. The jar of peanut butter I hung up was still there. At least I know now how to keep the raccoons from getting it (and anything else, apparently). I did some tree knocks but there were no replies. I can't remember if I mentioned before that I got replies to my tree knocks from that location from two different directions the first time I tried. My wife was with me, but now she won't go back there anymore. LOL. It was hot, but not nearly as bad as last time. I went and waited on the hogs, but they didn't cooperate either. I've shot two hogs, one with 7.62x39 and one with a 30/30. On both occasions the hogs ran off and I was unable to find them. I never saw any buzzards or smelled anything so they might not have died. The one I shot with the 30/30 was enormous, the biggest one I've ever seen. From now on I'm using my shotgun with 1 1/4 oz RIO "armored" slugs at 1510 fps. If that won't drop them, I give up! Oh yeah, I got two trail cams today. I plan on getting them figured out and set up in the next few days. Stay tuned...

I cant believe a hog took either of those rounds and ran far. Did you try to track them?

Yeah, I found no blood just a few tracks in the hard ground. The big black one sounded like it only ran about 50-60 yards and then stopped and started thrashing around. It made a lot of noise as it ran away. When I heard it thrashing around I thought it was in its death throes and was finished. I was not about to go tracking that monster in the dark though. I came back the next morning but found nothing. I guess they didn't die because I never saw any buzzards either. I know I didn't miss, it was only about 60 yards or so.

yeah i wouldnt follow a pig in the dark

Bot. A round fired from that rifle at that velocity would destroy you. Calling a fictional story.

Perhaps you should limit your comments to things that you actually know something about. Apparently you know little to nothing about guns and ammunition. You don't even know the difference between a rifle and a shotgun. By the way, I have some slugs that have velocities higher than 1510 fps, although the weight of the slug is 1 oz. I have some Black Aces Tactical 1 oz slugs that have a velocity of 1640 fps. In your world I guess those slugs will destroy the universe. 7.62x39 and 30/30 have velocities considerably faster than any 12 ga slug.

One guy who claimed expertise said that Bigfoot have fantastic vision and use it to avoid trail cams and guns. Ergo, your chances of a sighting are much less if you are armed.

Also, by virtue of its body size, it probably has a bigger brain than us. It certainly lives by its senses.

Yeah, if Bigfoot actually does exist, I would think that we are dealing with something that has all of the instincts and abilities of a wild animal, while at the same time has intelligence approaching that of a human being. I would probably go unarmed sometimes if I wasn't concerned with poachers and feral hogs. When I was a child, starting before I was even a teenager, I would camp alone in these woods, often with little or no equipment. Sometimes, all I had was a pair of cut-off jeans, a pocket knife, some matches, some fishing line and a few hooks. That was it! I was almost feral. Those were the days...

Get that hogzilla

If you're knocking trees for Sasquatch, and then firing shots in the area, if such an animal was in your area, they would move on and not want to deal with the shooting going on.

I heard bigfoot migrates also. He was probably just passing through.

Anything that big would need to cover ground to feed itself, even if it doesn't truly migrate.

The area where I am knocking and the area where I am hunting are not the same.
