What are your experiences? When did it happen? Has it happened more than once? What causes it? What were the circumstances around the event? Looking for theories.

So, the person having the siezure should be the only one hearing that, right?

I lived in a very old, but refurbished, house a few years ago. Sometimes there would be the sound of smashing glass, as if a large china cabinet had been pushed over. There was actually an antique china cabinet there, but it was always found to be intact after the noise. The noise didn't seem to come from the same room either. It only happened when I was there alone. Of course, that was only one of many strange things that occurred there. I don't know the people who own the house now, but I have been tempted to go ask them if the house is still "haunted."

I lived in an old home also, growing up. My glass-breaking experience happened when I was a teenager. A couple of friends and myself were playing around with an Ouija board. One of my friends was able to use the board and channel beings. You never know, but it was real to us. We had just finished a session and were terrified about the experience. We stopped and took a break. One friend was downstairs; I was upstairs getting a drink or something. I was in the hallway that led to the basement and heard a loud explosion of a glass globe. No one else heard it. My friend was downstairs and didn't hear it. He said it was probably a mental crash that he had from using the board. We searched, and nothing of glass was broken. It was weird with no explanation. Other weird things happened. I associated with the board and ended up getting rid of it. I have always been perplexed the the glass explosion noise.

Could also be a tinnitus.

tinnitus n. <ti'nIt&s> A ringing or booming sensation in one or both ears; a symptom of an ear infection or Meniere's disease. [ETYM: Latin, from tinnire to jingle.]

I had an ear infection after scuba diving and was hearing something sounding like a helicopter when no one else could.

When I've been very tired and nodded off to sleep for a moment, I've heard loud sounds. I find that when I'm nodding off I hear a quieter sound (I forget what it is) but I hear it a few times a minute.

Alarm companies install glass-break detectors. They look like blank boxes mounted to ceilings.

To test them, they have a device that makes a loud sound of glass breaking.

Sometimes I can smell bullshit thru my phone just by reading a thread
