Scooping and spreading water is exactly the opposite of petting the lion.

Once upon a time I visited a guy with big cats in his backyard. I nearly got my finger broken when I tried to touch a tiger and my finger got caught between the tiger and the bars of the cage, ouch, they are built like a rock.

Then I let a leopard lick my finger and I had salt on my finger. The owner warned me that that the rough tongue could grab and hold my finger, pull it into the cat's mouth, and be cut off like scissors with his back incisors.

Don't mess around with these animals.

Of course, they will not hesitate to murder you on the spot, and have the tools to do it in a gruesome way. They're still kitties though, and kitties like to be petted the right way.
