Only sensible comment I've seen here.
The residents did hear 2 loud bangs, and there were construction crews there a few days before. The building was already sinking in the 90's, not very solid foundation. What do you make of all this? It's always interesting getting people's takes, more points of reference more closely encapsulates the central theme.
There's a difference between structural failure, and complete demolition resulting in the collapse of a building into it's own footprint, at free-fall or near free-fall speeds.
Or maybe something more....interesting perhaps.
