I feel you guys, there. Enjoyed a handful of anime, even own a few boxsets of the classics, but weebs are annoying as shit and the reason I haven't checked out anything new in ages. Last one I watched was Neon Genesis Evangelion and couldn't see what all the fuss was about. It wasn't even mediocre; it downright sucked. That one was pretty much a flag bearer for people suffering the Dunning-Kruger Effect. Bad writing that people tried too hard to read into. Might check out your recommendations if I find some time.
