How certain are you of your conclusion about the coin date and origin?

If you're 100% certain that it's a shekel from 18 AD, that's pretty cool.

If you're not certain, one of my weirdo friends is a numismatist (? I think that's the right word) and owns a coin shop down in Hallowell. I can send 'em pics and ask them to tell me what it is and what it's worth, etc...

So, if you're 100% certain, I don't really need the better pictures, except to sate my curiosity. If you're not certain, I happen to know a weirdo who is pretty into that shit.

These are the types of contacts I accumulate! He is definitely a weirdo.

Lol, I am certain I did quite a lot of research on the coin and it looks like it was minted in tyre somewhere between 125 BC and 44 AD. We actually just did a mini poalcast on this coin. Once posts it you should check it out if it sounds like something you'd be interested in.

Ah! Good. That'll save me some time and I won't have to deal with a weirdo buddy.

I still want to see higher resolution images - but that's strictly for my own amusement/curiosity. I'd be quite grateful if you did take the time to post 'em.

The minicast on the topic which went WAY off topic eventually will be posted tomorrow. I still find the fact that he found this coin super interesting.

LOL Sweet! It also means you're spending time editing audio. Those are skills that'll come in handy and it's great that you're already reasonably adept at it.

Have you made use of the intro that I said you could use? (My feelings will be hurt exactly none, if you don't.)
