It's true. I fucking suck at being retired. I'm horrible at it. I did okay, and I wasn't even bored. It's not like I was sitting around going, "I've got nothing to do!" I pretty much never say that. The idea of being bored is mostly a foreign concept to me. I can play with Tonka trucks - for hours. It's the opposite. I say, "That looks like fun." Sometimes, "That'll be interesting." So, I say, "I'll do it!" Which is retarded. I don't have to do a damned thing, really. I could even pay someone to plow and shovel my snow. As it is, I'm paying people to tend my garden - including harvesting and most of the preservation work. I can pay for stuff to be done for me. I have been fishing fewer than a half dozen times this year! (I do go catch fish, but that's a 10 to 20 minute process and it isn't really fishing. I have a nice trout stream right here near the house.) As it is, I've enlisted the youngest hoodlum (who doesn't really like fishing) to go catch fish on my behalf! I have been hiking zero times. I've spent maybe four hours on a four wheeler this whole year. I haven't gone flying - at all. The list just goes on. I'm a fucking idiot.
