iirc, there was a whole thing where DA just fed every image on the site into AI a few years back. 22? 23? Something like that. It was a big hullabaloo in the art community, including tangentially related communities such as anime fan artists.
Idiots thought they owned the artwork they posted and DA 'didn't have legal authority' to do whatever they wanted with it.
It was hilarious because they say that all AI art is theft and unoriginal... but they're fanartists. Their work is unoriginal by default, no matter how they dress it up. Does that make it bad by default? No, but hypocrites that they are they cannot see their own finger poking them in the eye.
