I always wondered why the "Scotsman" was black.. Never made sense. However, he was a violent drunk so then again maybe that was their point. He was a unhinged violent drunk that played with explosives and murdered White people (all of the other classes in the game are White right)?

The "joke" on the other hand is a reference to the "no true Scotsman" argument. Suggesting that valve does not just add a "token minority". Well, the demoman in TFC/TF2 is a black and supposedly a Scott which makes no sense. As such, Valve/Steam had "DEI" before there was "DEI".

Edit: each of the 9 8 classes (pyro is a mystery) has their own personality. Sniper is Australian, Scout American Bronx, Spy French, Engineer American Texan and Demoman is Scottish, but also a nigger.
