It's even funnier with context. The entire stargate production company group was the same folks they used on MacGyver. The crew all knew each other and RDA from day one. Don Davis who played General Hammond on the show was never an actor. He was a cast member from MacGyver that had like one acting credit and did some work as a stunt double for Dana Elkhart on Mac. So the whole production was basically family, years of mac, right into sg-1, and even into atlantis. It's pretty obvious the band broke up too much by the time SGU rolled around but that's just my humble opinion.
