Cautiosly optimistic in spite of my jaded self. I shudder when I think of 'SG Universe' (was it?).

SG-1 and Atlantis had such a great mixture of Sci-Fi action, humor and likeability. They completely dropped the humor and replaced it with shaky-cam and incompetent protagonists working against each other. I get angry just thinking about it.

Starring a black male lead, a white woman second in command with a lesbian wife, science officer shlomo, a short white man who is bullied by the main characters for being white and short but they still like him, an alien character, a second white man who looks masculine but is gay, a native american female doctor that uses spirit animals and peyote as part of every treatment plan , a bunch of white extras that get killed off in every episode.

EDIT: forgot the straight white women in an on and off again relationship with the black male lead. Let's say her job is government agent with a secret agenda.

They green lit new Star wars and Star Trek, too. I wouldn't get my hopes up.

The only stargate series I was able to watch was SG:Universe. I don't have any real frame of reference to the original.

That was easily the worst series of the three. It was like Star Trek Voyager compared to the original and The Next Generation.

I'm not even going to try and get my hopes up when it comes to Amazion. No matter what "we're bringing back the old..." is, it's going to be jewed, and the only question is "how jewed can it be?" Too much for my taste.
