I have rebuttals for most of this. The, "I guess they'll have to add it to my tab...." He didn't order it, he found out after it was installed and working, and they needed it to save Starfleet. Like when Data has his friend on the world that was about to be destroyed by volcanos.... be was about to let it happen and changed his mind at the last second when he heard the voice on comms.

The decloaking to transport, someone noted that this has been the case in other instances when the ship wasn't built with cloaking use in mind.

In every example where they could find a cloaked ship, it wasn't part of a standard scan, they had to make modifications. You can say that's stupid and should be part of a standard scan and be right but it's not what has be true for the shows I've seen.

Picard season 3 isn't perfect. I hated season 1 and wouldn't watch season 2 but this has been good. not great but way better than TNG season 1 and most of season 2.

afaik, it's always been canon that you have to decloak to use the transporter, so really it was the TOS and TNG era writers bending the rules. Plus, I don't think Shaw was considering tetrionic particles or metaphasic scanners when he euphorically said "they have no idea we're here."

I don't know how anyone can watch any of the modern day "trek." I put "trek" in quotes because the only thing it has in common is character names. It's all shit.
