Back in the day, my cousin would watch Star Trek on TV, first episodes, not repeats.
He would grab a head of lettuce and sprinkle oil and vinegar all over it and salt and pepper and sit there watching, transfixed, I mean hypnotized.

Once upon a time I threw a late night paper route, and listened to late night talk radio.
They was all abuzz about a new movie coming out, taking the world by storm.
I had to see it.
I saw it.
I thought it was the worst movie I ever did see.
About 1977 or so.
Guess what it was.
Lol, around that time I had seen Logan’s Run 5 times and then that movie came out and everybody forgot about Logan’s Run.
Haven't seen that one, but I never got the hype around Star Wars, oh well.
It’s a fun movie, before Star Trek Conventions where the scene, there where Sci-fi conventions in Southern California, Logan’s Run was a favorite dress up, guys where Sandmen, and girls where, well Jenny Agutter, the outfits had no under garments. Good times!
Edit to Add: Try to look past the cheesy 1970s special effects, follow the story, token Farrah Faucett scene, we all had her poster red swimsuit, and held it up with one hand :D
Added for obscure reference: https://snltranscripts.jt.org/77/77amono.phtml
> Boy oh boy, I am so mad at Farrah Fawcett-Majors. She is so conceited. She has never called me once And after the hours I’ve spent holding up her poster with one hand! Geez!>>
Same. Don't rewatch you'll even be more disappointed.
You mean the "We have four backgrounds" cartoon?
The only interesting thing about it was they could add some races that would have been difficult or impossible to use live action.
Star Trek died of an STD.
Star Trek was a struggle from the start. Gene Roddenberrys vision was odd. It was a good idea but different, the money handlers didn’t see profit. Lucille Ball took a chance. Love her so much. She was right but not immediately, paramount was wrong, and nbc was wrong!
I should add, I did like the Star Trek movies, they were pretty good.
