That is cool. And it’s SOP to drill fatigue cracks to stop them. But filling with epoxy is neat.

I bet it’s fucking steel stick 5min roll together to not fuck up the formula.

You might be shocked by this but most most shit in the world kind of looks like that. Its not hollywood and things are not all super clean and polished. What works, works. Reparability is important and though it looks like random shit you get at a hardware store (some of it really is) it passes a lot of very hard testing to be used at all.

It also has a criteria to be very light because you know. before SpaceX getting things into orbit was stupidly expensive so there is that too.
