While this CME isn't expected to hit Earth, experts are warning that the sun is becoming more active, and future eruptions could strike our planet head-on.
If one does, it could unleash a geomagnetic storm, a powerful solar disturbance that has the potential to knock out power grids, satellites, and GPS systems.
The sun is not becoming more active.
This looks like more priming to me. They are putting the idea in our heads that a solar event is coming soon that will knock out power grids.
It’s true that that can happen, but the mainstream media has mostly ignored the sun until recently. Now these scare stories come out regularly and not one of them has been about an actual important solar event (it’s been quiet lately).
The warning comes as solar activity ramps up during its current cycle, increasing the risk of Earth being caught in the path of a direct hit.
Solar activity is not ramping up. The sun has been in solar maximum for a few years already. We have been at high risk the whole time and that has not changed. The sun will be heading back to a low activity period in a year or two.
Someone suddenly wants us to be scared of the sun and there must be a reason for it.
But.. But. but... Muh Climate change? Come on goy. Pay the tax to make sure the sun doesn't kill us.
