I once had to evaluate a couple of our chips that were in a satellite when I worked for the NatSemi Mil/Aero Product line. We got an urgent call from DARPA, apparently they found a test condition that stressed the outputs of our parts in space (not our fault) and needed to know whether the parts were compromised. I did the lab work and was pleased to report no damage. I hated doing that type of work, you had to sign govt documents that your performed the accessment exactly as requested and your results were on the up and up under penalty of law. Full documentation of the testing involved to cover your ass.
