We should push it toward the Sun and not the Earth. If you think about all the energy that went into putting that "mass" into orbit, you shouldn't want to deorbit it. Keep it up there and reuse it someday when we have the infrastructure to melt it down.

Or send it to Mars, so it can be used as an orbital storage station.
