Witnessing isn't predicting or calculating ahead of time. Think of a solar flare like a sniper bullet but the sniper isn't aiming and you accidentally get hit. The distances in space make it unlikely for an unaimed direct hit. You can see the effects of the magnetic pole in the aurora borealis. It's like iron filings shifting to a pole oin the magnet. That's why they find the most asteroids at the poles or the equator b/c of these opposing magnetic polarities. If our sun goes supernova, we're all dead. A mild flare would act like an emp. In fact we had one in our recent past. The Carrington event. It was in the 1800s and took down telegraphs across the country w/ it's emp. They estimate w/ our current infrastructure a grid crippling emp event would cause 90% of the US population to die w/in a year. Life is terrifiyingly fragile.

I mean maybe that 2nd article is propaganda but I watched a woman try to put gas in a tesla the other day. I don't think our odds are very good.
