To the naked eye, Halley's Comet appears to be about half the size of an African dung beetle, but it's actually several thousands of giraffes wide.

TIL that 'a giraffe' is a fixed size.. pretty neat if you have no bananas to compare with or if the number of bananas would be too astronomical and therefore unfathomable..
