The 2nd is definitely good inspiration for science fiction stories, but there would need to be hard speculation of another place in the solar system potentially hosting advanced life besides Earth and Mars.

and that is filled by the Sumerian nibiru claim, or for a fiction creation, pick a moon that is different from earth and say life exist at those conditions, and have explorers encounter ruins on said moon and emphasize how old they are. Pretty cookie cutter stuff in a sci-fi novel.
