Shooting basketball - imagination flying Like when I was a child Floating on barbiturates After lunch play catch Staring into the sun A football hits me in the face Laughing on one last dosage Eventually get a baseball fix Now that the seasons over

Take a nap in the grass When everyone else has to go inside My last day in detox Wait for the wind to pass From a cloud eclipsed sky

Thinking too far ahead already Of what to accomplish or learn Things no one would know how to repair Infrastructure and civilization Goes from complexity to collapse*

The TikTok trend of men Pondering the Roman empire What about it's predecessors Greeks, Phoenicians, Babylonians, Etruscans, Egyptians

Blueprint clues they left for us As if it were common sense We become stumped by a riddle A child could solve without bias Till it's romanticized in sacred rites Hidden from the unwashed masses

I'm still having fun in this junky sleepaway camp A break from watching the fall of the Republic Even if I got the basketball stuck in the rim

*Old unreleased poem

Yeah, he was more late 70s, early 80s. You're more of a boomer than him. Lol

I'm possibly the oldest person on Poal; a very red pilled old dirt.

I'll be 72 next month. Both my parents were 36 when I was born. The last one, youngest of 10. All my grandparents lived to their 90s, one of my great grandmothers made it to 104, both parents made it to 95. I hope my body lasts that long. My dad when he was in his 90s kept saying "if I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself".
