You are right, as usual, but the site admins have to ban in some cases, sadly. Real 'free speech' is an illusion.
Real 'free speech' is an illusion.
It's not a question of free speech.
He violated the ToS on several occasions and that's what got him banned.
I meant in a general, global sense. Yelling 'FIRE' in a movie theater, etc. There will always be restrictions of some sort. And if TS was warned...fuck him.
>Real 'free speech' is an illusion.
You're free to say whatever you want, always have been, regardless of the context.
Different contexts carry different consequences
Yelling fuck all niggers all day long in the middle of the desert doesn't carry the same consequences as yelling it in the middle of baltimore that's all
Just FYI, yelling fire is perfectly legal. You do, however, assume full liability for the consequences.

No, they really don't. Hosting a public forum is not an endorsement of all, or any, views expressed in it. As long as they ban nobody, they're not responsible for what anyone says. But, the moment they decided to ban the first person, because they didn't like what he said, they accepted responsibility for what everyone says.
It's the same story as everywhere else. Once you start censoring, there's no going back. You'll have to keep censoring. Little by little. More and more. Until all that's left is brain-dead noise, so bland and shapeless that nobody can take offense at it.
Aka poal on the way towards a reddit style echo chamber
'Just build your own website, bro'
---they can do what they want, it's a free site, and they don't have to follow OUR wishes. I will miss TS, because I used to fuck with him a lot.
That's not a great analogy as a mecanic that changes out the oil doesn't suddenly become responsible for the transmission thats about to go out
