Only $30 for a WiFi6 router is cheap as hell. It looks a little big for a travel router though.
I usually have one so I can connect it to the wifi or if there is one, the wire then it creates a VPN tunnel to one of my endpoint's and lets me have my own wifi network /w secure connection.
