There's an old saying that any landing you walk away from is a good landing...

No, I'm just going to opt out. Flying commercial was a failed experiment, and I don't want to be a part of it.

If you ever flew right after 9/11 this was the norm. The meme evolved that we're Americlaps... kek

So sad. I flew hundreds of flights as a kid. Absolutely no fear. The last time I flew I swear I wouldn't do it again unless I was forced because it was full of ghettos, the shoe thing, TSA stole my mp3 player because they thought it was worth something, black employee at Atlanta spit at my feet, it was horrible.

I remember we clapped when the plane landed in such deep fog, so smoothly we didn't know it had landed until the brakes went on. I think all of us told the pilot it was an amazing landing leaving the plane. Probably back in the 90s.

I miss when you wore your Sunday best with good shoes (just in case you had to use the slide) and all there was was metal detector. All the pilots were ex military and so nice. Loved their jobs and were proud to fly, not because of whatever color they were.

Now I worry the plane will just crumble from DEI maintence if the pilots are both even remotely capable. I worry more when they start H1b ing pilots due to supposed shortages.

Yea, good times. I even had a plane pull back to the gate for me 'cause I was late. The payment was the long walk of shame to my seat though.

Then, when I missed my flight, I could literally run down the terminal looking for the next flight to my destination. The airline would honor whatever ticket I happened to have. I sure miss those days.

I'd rather spend a few days driving across country if I had to over flying. Safety aside, I've heard all sorts of stories about flights being delayed causing issues with connecting flights or luggage being lost/stolen.

Flying isn't worth the hassle if you aren't crossing an ocean.

Agreed. I'm driving much further than I used to thanks to the hassle of flying and the expense of rental cars.

Its isn't even faster for me if the drive is less than 8 hours or so.

I would be driving several hours to the closest major hub, plus an hour in traffic getting to the airport and another few hours getting to my destination after landing assuming the destination isn't a big city.
