I like to think of the arrow of time in relation to entropy. The only difference between now and the future is how much energy is lost in a given system. So with that theory, time travel would require immense sums of energy to undo localized entropy.

Time is just a measurement of movement and entropy, I include movement of energy or waves as well. It's not like a CD track that can be rewound.
