I wonder if the narrative is that we can't go back in time is to push the idea that we can't undo what's been happening in the West for the last century we can only go in the direction we've been going. I know these are two separate ideas as one is physically going back and the other is just undoing bad policies that have been enacted, but the concept isn't that different.
