Sports shouldn't be in academia anyway
I've taught college classes. The male athletes are just dumb 4/5 times.
The girls aren't bad, but then again it takes basically nothing to be a female college athlete
It irritates me whenever I get grouped with the athletes for projects because they care a lot more about Sportsball™️ and don't ever do their share of the work.
It is a very American thing to make college athletics so important. College teams exist in other countries but they’re never anywhere near as important as they are in America, and in general are considered secondary to club sports even by the athletes themselves. I think America needs more sports clubs as this can help separate academia from athletics, and also means you don’t have to reach the top level professional tier by your early 20s to be able to continue to participate in your chosen sports at a more casual, amateur level.

Yep, in every other country it's just 'physical exercise', and mostly a bit of a bore
If we had another Hitler Youth then we might not have to put up with the Left dictating school policy and our kids would be happier
