It used to be common practice. If someone lets you cut in front of their vehicle you show a little appreciation and throw a friendly wave as a thank you. People virtually never do this anymore, everyone has an entitlement or fuck you mentality. Little gestures like this go a long way in a society.

Yeah, I've seen a lot less of that too. Honestly people drive like dicks a lot more often anymore and just force their way in. It kind of perpetuates it because then my radar is on and I don't want to even give them the chance. Put your signal on and wait 2 seconds like a decent human being and I have no problem letting you in.

There are a lot of people who will intentionally speed up just to be jerks and not let people over. Those people I have no problem cutting off but yes one should absolutely wait a few seconds and give the other driver time to let you in.

Sounds like you live in Dallas. They are the biggest asshoes I've ever dealt with... I try very hard to never go there.
