What game did you get?
Jedi Fallen Order. Steam had it on sale, figure I'll give it a go.
It was ~50 gig download.

To hell with baud rates.
Over the years I've been upgrading every old ass machine I have with some sort of ethernet functionality. Commodore 64 has a user-port WIFI device, the Apple II and IIGS both have a Uthernet II, the Tandy 1000 TL has an 8-bit ethernet card, all the other old x86'ers have 3com Etherlink III's installed.. etc etc. Created air-gapped LAN to transfer files over FTP.
That solution is insanely better than the serial cable transfers I started out with, @ baud rates.
That is cool those options are available.
Do you even ZMODEM, bro?
To be fair, back then a game would fit in a floppy.
Yep, I think the first hard drive I owned was only 40 megs.
Same here. I convinced my boss, at the time, to upgrade my hard drive to 200-MB as a reward for making him look good. It cost over $200 back in the late 1980's. When those old drives died they went with a helluva noise.
We are totally spoiled with cheap storage now. My M2 SSD is quite the advancement from loading data off of a cassette tape!
10MB here. Full height Seagate RLL with a full size ISA controller card. Thought I was the shit when I found a used 64MB SCSI for cheaps.
