You're not defining what faith looks like. Simply believing isn't faith, for the demons believe too, and they tremble. Faith is believing, but also obedience. One of the things he tells us to do is good works, so we do those, but what do good works look like? Evangelizing is one such good work. Feeding the poor is another. Ultimately, it is to live a Christ like life. To do as he would do. Those are good works. It is why the rich man was cast into the pit of fire, for he did nothing to help those in need; and in the parable, specifically Lazarus. The rich man believed in God and didn't do anything wrong in his life, but he didn't do anything good either. Being good requires doing. It requires action. Just as being bad requires action. If one doesn't do anything, you are neither bad, nor good. You are neutral, and in the end only the good make it into the kingdom.
So you're telling me that you 100% obey the commandments of Jesus everyday and never sin? You just condemned yourself.
Romans 3:23
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 3:10
10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
Romans 3:20 - 22
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
John 6:37 King James Version
37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
You cannot buy your way into Heaven. If you trust in your own works and deeds, you are trusting in yourself. Jesus paid the debt for all of our sins in the past, present and future.
"So you're telling me that you 100% obey the commandments of Jesus everyday and never sin? You just condemned yourself."
I literally never said or implied that. Not even once. Is this a bot or something?
That's what you were implying. This 'holier than thou' mentality of Orthodoxy and Catholicism is complete rubbish and their beliefs have no justification in scripture. We keep the Commandments to avoid God's wrath and so we can be in good grace with the Lord. According to the Bible we all technically deserve hell for our sins, it's only by repenting and turning to Jesus is what guarantees us salvation. And repentance means turning from unbelief to belief in Christ, not repenting of your individual sins.
Once Jesus knows you, you're going to Heaven no matter what you do, though we will pay for our sins in THIS life and not the next. With Jesus we have eternal security, i.e. once saved always saved.
Acts 16:30
30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Romans 10:9-10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
John 10:28
28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
