From the post:

>Harnessing moisture from air, Northwestern University chemists have developed a simple new method for breaking down plastic waste. The non-toxic, environmentally friendly, solvent-free process first uses an inexpensive catalyst to break apart the bonds in polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the most common plastic in the polyester family. Then, the researchers merely expose the broken pieces to ambient air. Leveraging the trace amounts of moisture in air, the broken-down PET is converted into monomers—the crucial building blocks for plastics. From there, the researchers envision the monomers could be recycled into new PET products or other, more valuable materials.

Now about the gram in my brain, in your brain and on average in everyone's brain.

Recycle this bad plastic into this base plastic to then create more of this bad plastic

I HATE SCIENCE SO FUCKING MUCH.

Well, they already say that you can get rid of harmful heavy metals by doing regular blood donations or plasma donations. Might do the same for plastic too. Ill probably start doing that soon myself.

Nope. Plastic and heavy metals end up in the brain. Your donation won't drain the blood within the brain through the filter of the blood-brain barrier that keeps the metals/plastics in the brain.

We are so fucked. I think it was here the meme that was like My Grandpa, dying of lead poisoning - my dad, dying of asbestos poisoning - me, dying of microplastics or something.
