Nothing like that has been proven to exist or even be possible with our current technology. Sure you can say "they have technology far ahead of what we know about", but that's never been proven in this context at all. It's not really likely or possible with how physics works. The whole fanfic is written as it is because Julian Assange once mentioned the term "smart dust" in an interview. He did not elaborate on the concept one tiny bit nor did he ever mention it again. I have scoured the internet for years looking for Julian to speak more on the subject but he never did. Given that, anyone adding to the "smart dust" concept is just making shit up because there is nothing remotely credible about it from the only person ever to use the term at the time. That's why I call this article fearmongering bullshit.
