You know what really gets my noggin joggin' about this news story? Cloning... You don't hear about cloning in the news that much anymore. It was a huge story, maybe 25 years ago, when they first cloned Dolly the sheep. A crazy achievement for mankind, that looked like it was about to start a debate about human cloning and the ethics of human genetic engineering in general. And then you just stopped hearing about it completely. Nobody ever talked about it again. And now we get this news story, that apparently, with the current technology, it is pretty easy for some random rancher to clone sheep just for sport. But we still don't hear anything about human cloning, or human genetic manipulation. And back when they cloned Dolly, everyone in the media made sure to include the caveat: >A sheep is not a human, and science is still a long way off from cloning humans But let's be real, they obviously aren't, and the fact that it isn't talked about it at all makes me think they probably are. There is no way you could convince me that the Chinese aren't cloning/generically engineering humans right now, and if they're doing it, the US is probably doing it as well. Just seems suspicious, how little I've heard about cloning over the past 25 years.
