Do we suppose that eventually there will be an implant mandate that requires all people to get this technology into their brain in order to catch those who are committing wrong-think and thought crimes?
Thoughts would get uploaded to an agency that will monitor everyone's ideas for anything they consider dangerous.

they put electrodes in the motor cortex to interpret the guys motoric signals. once they interpreted enough peoples motor cortex, they will transmit to peoples motor cortex wirelessly, even without implanted device. and the implant work only as an amplifier.
Right now they don't have the ability to pinpoint specific neurons with phased array antenna because the resolution for beam shaping/forming is too low with current tech. In 15 or 20 years who knows though. It is foreseeable that you could have a device that could be several meters away that could pinpoint specific neurons in a person brain for either read or write operations if the resolution was good enough. Neural link is taking the approach of wiring into neurons directly but wireless tech is definitely where this is going.
