I mean yes and no. Your body won't just lose fat to lose fat whereas it will lose muscle to lose muscle but this is because muscle is an active tissue that needs energy to just exist. So the example works with muscle, but not skin, fat, or other inactive tissues.
Also it's kind of funny how little effort needs to be had to sustain muscle that's been gained. Where the amount of effort necessary to get the muscle is comparatively insane, to keep it all you need to do is slightly more than get out of bed. for above.
