NPR huh?...
red meat bad
Yeah the only relevant part of that list is:
- No snacking
- Sugar only from fruits
Boom, now you're in the blue zone boys.
Plus the medicine-free part. They're trying to pass off as a result of the lifestyle/diet, which it partially is. But staying pharma free is probably foundational to staying healthy in the first place.
Lots of red meat is not good for you, but its not all bad. You need some B-12 and iron in your diet.
Red meat has all the nutrients you need to survive and meat proteins are vastly more bioavailable than plant proteins.
That's true of everything we consume - it should all be eaten in moderation.
NPR is socialist lie shit.
This OP link was totally discredited and Olive Oil studies PROVEN TO BE CRIMINALLY FABRICATED STUDIES!
Its all covered in the massively popular and well sourced book on the topic of diet and longetevity and proved you eat THE OPPOSITE as this OP list of socialist lies.
THE BIG FAT SURPRISE -Why Butter, Meat & Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet https://thebigfatsurprise.com/

FAMOUS book discrediting all the lies in this OP list with hard data from proper science papers.
NPR didn't identify the Blue Zones, other researchers did. All I did is link an NPR article (which is well written). Go to the actual Blue Zones site to get the detailed info. It's not owned by NPR or affiliated with NPR.
Zones do not count unless you eliminate DNA effects for each region and/or have very detailed telomere measurements across time.
Lifespan is based on telomere and longest lifespan is actually based on being obese if counting only all-cause mortality and AVERAGE lifespan. Tens of millions of dollars of science papers on this. Fat people who eat meat live the longest.
All your silly blue zones show is DNA genetics.
Worse, your silly blue zones use CORRELATION not CAUSATION studies.
It would make a scientist weep.
NPR just wrote a story that I linked here (because it was well written). The Blue Zones project is NOT related to NPR in any way.
