By "universal vaccine" I suppose you mean a "cure". Have you been paying any attention at all? Why would they ever do that? The real money is in perpetual treatment. A cure means fewer patients. Fewer patients means fewer treatments required. Fewer treatments means less money. "Well, we can't cure you, but the good news is we can put what you have into remission, and all you have to do is pay us for the rest of your life." The bad news is you can't afford to buy a house anymore. But the good news is you will still be able to pay rent on the body you're already in.
