Whew, lad. Did your humor die recently or what?
Dilation means your pupils get larger to accept more light. Larger pupils are associated with intelligence. Dilated pupils are not associated with intelligence.
It's been a long day and my pupils are pinpoints, ok?
By nature of their larger pupils they receive more optical information? What about having the eyes closer to the occipital lobe, like a bird that has eyes spaced further apart. That way the optic nerve takes a shorter path to the part of the brain that processes visual stimuli. If a person were like that they'd have wide noses eyes far apart, and thick brows that would not be there if the eyes were closer together.
Pupils are like an aperture lens, the more it opens the more light it can receive, this is why your pupils dilate in the dark and contract in bright light.
