I'm not talking about now or the 1990s era, I'm talking back in the 1800s. Now they're much healthier due to westernisation and the introduction of plant foods rich in vitamins and minerals.
Their high meat diet was so unhealthy that their health actually improved on a Standard American diet (S. A. D)
No, I'm talking about the 1800s too. Weston Price was interviewing people in the 1920s and 30s, and he could go places where SAD was introduced and where it wasn't. Fruits and veggies didn't make it out that far unless it was canned, so they got an extra dose of sugars and white bread, and all of their degenerative diseases shot up tremendously, from dental carries to heart attacks and so on. In places where they didn't have access to modern food, they still ate like their ancestors and were much more healthy. White settlers also suffered, in some cases they were actually getting scurvy because they didn't know to harvest certain organs from caribou for vitamin C. This pattern was repeated all over the place, from remote Swiss villages to the Outer Hebrides to the Klondike territory. Places where the diet was nothing but oats and grass-fed milk were fine, then a new road is built and suddenly new processed food fills the markets and nearly every child has cavities or signs of nutritional deficiency.
