Take a look at the outcomes of kids raised by single dads. With the exception of emotional connectedness, those kids score better than kids raised in a marriage. Much better outcomes then single moms, for both girls and boys.

I'd expect that no matter what given that single fatherhood is rarely voluntary and never incentivised. Might be interesting to compare involuntary single mothers (like widows) with involuntary single fathers.
Would probably need to do a similar study where the married group is split up into two groups: marriages with (for the lack of a better term) alpha fathers and marriages with weak betacuck dads.
The latter is likely marginally better than single-motherdom and bringing the average down.
