not for any rational or logical reason, but just because that's the prevailing opinion of those who you associate with and relate to.
Maybe you should try stepping into my shoes, and strike up a conversation with the flat-earthers. Even if they don't accept what you're saying, do you know how to present an argument and defend a point based on "reason"?

You're saying it's 'jew funded research' not because you know that, but because you're been led by those in your social environment, who share your approximate ideology. Thinking rationally isn't part of it, just agree with your people because they're your people and disagree with the others merely because they're others...
You should remember that I am no friend of Israel, and would love for it to lose it's blatant political influence and control over the US. I don't ascribe to a moronic right or left ideology, because I don't agree with either on all issues. Try to be an individual, rather than just an unthinking member of a herd.
