I can blame men for what they did before anyone else got into the industry.
Being a white female, this is the only thing I hold against my own men. Do I blame my brother on this, though? No, but I’ve made it abundantly clear that white males trespassed against us severely by entering into the world of pregnancy and childbirth.
A poor white female would have better outcomes with a midwife than a rich white female who had money for a doctor 100 years ago.
The HORROR of giving birth - well maybe it’s always been a horror. When you read about how men would go work with corpses, not wash their hands, and then go deliver a baby only for that mother to die within a week... Or how women in the 50’s were drugged and went psychotic while they endured painful births while being strapped to the bed only to wake up the next day and remember nothing. (Happened to my best friends mom).
Antibiotics and transfusions.
That’s what helped reduced mortality rates in childbirth.
By the 1950’s most women gave birth in hospitals.
What a shit show. It’s no ones fault and everyone’s fault. I had my daughter in a hospital. Strapped to 3 devices, on my back, ended up with a c-section when it was my scheduled time. My friend, she pushed - tore her vagina apart because she wasn’t coached on preparing it for labor. She endured years of physical therapy to regain normal functioning, and may never have sex again.
Midwives should have never been relegated. That was shoehorned sexism.
You just hate men that is why it comes so easy to blame them at the drop of a hat without any thought. So you hear all these nasty things from feminists and just accept them as true.
If your friend was not "prepared" for birth in the age of information, after spending months at home with nothing to do, perhaps she holds some fault with that too. And assuming that a midwife would have made a difference is pure bias.
Yes, the olden times were barbaric and no the midwives were not better. You just dont hear about the midwives who fed the pigs, then delivered a baby without washing up and killed the mother. The reality is that hospitals reduced the mortality of mothers and children at birth.

To not be able to TRUST MY WHITE MALE OBGYN for all the information I needed for my second pregnancy was a slap in the face. Do I blame him for being male - no! But I am very disenfranchised with the medical establishment in regard to CHILDBIRTH.
If you can go around blaming women for things, you can certain blame men for this. It’s the ONLY thing I will ever hold against my men. And you realize, they suffered for it as well. As do their wives and daughters. The system is too big and out of our control now. Only individual families can make the proper decisions (if they’re informed) to save their integrity in childbirth.

No one is infallible so you shouldn't have blind faith in anyone, even your doctors. That is just reality. No one was put on this earth to take care of you. You aren't owed that.

No, that's absurd. Never in my life have I heard a woman say that she decided not to have kids because she doesn't want to give birth in a hospital. Everyone still has the option to give birth at home.
