I'd believe it if they presented some real evidence of what the toxicity actually was, instead of just saying it could be indicated and claiming it was toxic. They aren't absorbed by the body and may push out some gut bacteria since they can't be broken down by them. AFAIK no one has died from ingesting artificial sweeteners. Still, stevia is the way to go to avoid sugar while staying with natural sweeteners. Sugar is needed for baking or the item won't rise correctly. That's about it.
