I was into those for a short time. But really, regular sugar is just fine. So is honey and stevia. The problem is we have sugar in EVERYTHING so we are like addicts who need a fix, requiring huge amounts of it.

No shit, I virtually eliminated sugar from my diet for a month. No soda or soft drinks. No dressings or desserts. No syrup. Etc etc. Most carbs were low glycemic. Went into major, major withdrawl. CRAVING sugar almost 24/7 for the first few days. Then I was free.

After that I reintroduced sugar in my diet and to this day can tell immediately if something has any sort of added sugar. No longer add sugar to anything really except syrup on pancakes (real, pure shit, not that Aunt Jemima crap).

This seems like a no brainer until I realize most people unconcerned with their health (and that’s most people) might find this surprising.

I'd believe it if they presented some real evidence of what the toxicity actually was, instead of just saying it could be indicated and claiming it was toxic. They aren't absorbed by the body and may push out some gut bacteria since they can't be broken down by them. AFAIK no one has died from ingesting artificial sweeteners. Still, stevia is the way to go to avoid sugar while staying with natural sweeteners. Sugar is needed for baking or the item won't rise correctly. That's about it.
