It's a great article, but hyperbolic clickbait terms like "open war" should not be used.
These are the author's own words, a direct quote from the thread. It is notable that she sees that we are in a war, and that it was part of the mindset that helped her defeat the attempted convergence.
Open war is upon us, there is no “safe” any more. Choose which kind of “unsafe” you want. Fighting lies is always preferable to being ruled by them. I believe they can be defeated. I believe the truth will prevail.

I get where Voal was coming from though, the author should have said it was a cold Civil War, which more accurately describes the conflict since it is most certainly not open war (which would be e.g., shooting eachother, constant acts of sabotage to logistics structures etc etc).
