I did the opposite, and failed the class. It isn't really a fear so much as a reality at this point. Ironically the worst offenders were female professors who would clamor on about how abusive and vile men were, whilst using the very little power they had to squash any dissent
I also told relative that he can expect 80% of female profs and job managers to be 'bad' to work for and to avoid. I told him likewise that 20% of male profs and job managers are 'bad' and to avoid (the emotional unstable male ones). I told him to try to work for male managers.
My experience with female profs and managers is they get too personal and need to prove themselves by trying to dominate in bullshit ways or micromanage that you won't have to deal with from men managers and profs.
