From what I've gleaned of the nature of Russian language without understanding it myself, it is a poetic language with many nuances on par with English and adroit at expressing malaise, sorrow and worry, reflecting the dire history of the nation and it's perserverance.

I grew up during the Cold War and the Space Race, russkies were the enemy in the movies. In return, they gave us computer Tetris, and on the title screen it said "With love, from Russia"
