Most people don't get this. The reason is the completely fantastical reporting by the western media. Today they had quite the telling about Russias failure to defeat ukraine in the year since they invaded. Somehow they have completely forgotten how we bombed the fuck out of Iraq and Afghanistan for 20 years and accomplished nothing.
