Big changes coming.
I don't think any one currency will be pegged to gold, I think the gold price will 'float' and each nation's 'purchasing power' will be proportionate to their gold holdings.
Paper or digital 'currency' will still be used.
Something like that.
The concept is called 'freegold' and it's been talked about for a while on the 'FOFOA' blogspot.

You have to put your thinking cap on, at least I had to, first discovered it maybe ten years ago. The actual FOFOA blog is here (below). This particular link is an article I saved from 2009.
