He may deny one jew cartel (which is probably just a show anyway), only to bow down to another, consisting of jewish oligarchs (New Russians as they were called) who continue to thrive and steal natural riches that belong to Russian people with impunity. Russian people continue living in shitty commie blocs and run-down wooden hovels, meanwhile Russian elite lives in golden palaces and castles towering over districts, and have heavily guarded villas outside of cities. Regular people will take the blow and experience the sanctions affecting them full force, but the elites couldn't give two shits about that because they're pretty much unscathed.
